2009 Addy Awards

Salty does it again! We had another great year at the 2009 Addy Awards Show. Salty brought home the hardware this year.

Speaking of awards we also just found out that we will be getting two logo designs published in the new "Logo Lounge Master Series" due out in the bookstores in 2010.

2009 ADDY AWARDS Promotional Materials

Salty Design Foundry was given the honor of designing the 2009 Addy Award promotional materials this year. The call for entry poster invite, show invite, show tickets, environmental graphics and the winners book. The Addy committee wanted to have a party theme, something really interesting visually, something that was not as serious as previous years. The concept was simple, it was all about getting together and drinking liqueur. In this industry we know how to do that well! Thank you Jason Corbin for the great words and the collaboration in working together on this project.

What is graphic design poster competition

This is what it is to me.

1. It's visual communication using skillful combination of text and photography to represent an idea or concept.

2. It's research and deep thought.

3. It's typography, writing, photography, illustration.

4. It evokes emotion.

5. It's passionate.

6. It's thinking out of the box.

7. It's different.

8. It's having no fear.

9. It's creating something that is memorable and not boring.

10. It draws people into it.

11. It identifies who you are.

12. It captivates you.

13. It's an art.

14. It conveys a message that is clear and interesting.

15. It's about image. You can have a boring one or a COOL ONE. A boring one or a BEAUTIFUL one. You can have a horribly designed one that is totally unrecognizable. Or one that is totally MEMORABLE. One that GETS YOUR ATTENTION or one that makes you want to go to sleep. One that makes you look like you're a cheap company or one that makes you look like a MILLION BUCKS. It's all up to you. Guess what kind of image I like?
